The rooms

Twenty-two rooms, and no two alike. Carved from six buildings nearly five centuries old, each carries its own walls, light, and quirks - and an original painting or sculpture by Jan D'Esopo, who built this house and fills it still. Tempur-Pedic mattresses, no televisions by design, and most rooms opening to a balcony, terrace, or view of the ocean, the gardens, or the old city.

  • Central, and alive

    We're in the heart of Old San Juan - steps from its museums, music, and the Caribbean nightlife of Calle San Sebastián. A lively old city, not a sealed-off resort.

  • Quieter, or livelier

    Interior rooms (like the Artist rooms) are the most tucked-away and quiet; balcony and front rooms trade a little quiet for light, air, and the life of the street. Tell us your preference.

  • A historic house

    Six 18th-century buildings, no two rooms alike, no televisions, and original art throughout. Old-world character comes with old-world floors, stairs, and angles.

  • Every room is one of a kind

    The photos here show a sample of each room category - since no two rooms are alike, your exact room may vary. Most rooms are for two; ask us about the few larger rooms or bringing an extra guest.
